Our Home for the next 12 or 13 Months 1954/55.

The Famous Teal Bridge rebuilt by the Engineers

The best view on the hill watching the guys on exercises.

We did have visits from the Red Cross and managed to purchase the odd chocolate bar

The accommodations were not always first class but our next door neighbours were always friendly. We did manage to maintain the same standard of accommodations at the same rate

This is our Private Biffy very close to the Rice Paddy

Thank you Mr Van Tassel,
I was thrilled to find your wonderful photos of the Queens Own Rifles in Korea ...including some of my father-in-law RSM William DEMMY that were new to the family. My Father-in-law was a very private person and seldom spoke of his time in either, Italy or Korea, (but he knew I loved history and left me his scrapbooks from the Yukon and Currie Barracks etc.)I enjoyed your website and your photos immensely (I especially enjoyed your remarks about Rfm Deuce Horn who seemed to share the same sentiments as my Father-in-law (lol).) Please feel free to contact me (or pass my email address on to others who are archaiving material or knew my father-in-law) He was an interesting man, very proud, brave, and a good and disciplined soldier. Sadly, he lost his most courageous battle (with cancer) in Nov 2005 but he has left us with a proud legacy and much honour and much to be grateful for!!....thank you for sharing your photos
..... and your memories.
regards,
